The problem with Email

I have recently joined one of those stupid internet dating sites. Have been sent profiles of old men and men that think the only thing a woman is interested in is "romance". Why do men not realize that we see through this declaration of creating romantic moments for what it is? I'll tell you the most romantic thing my ex-husband used to do was go out and start my car when it was freezing out so that I got in a warm car. Not that is romance. Anyway, I saw one profile that struck me and Emailed him. he professed to being greatly interested especially after he received my picture. He wanted to call that night. However, that seemed a little soon and I put him off. I sent him a funny little Email that a friend that read it said was amusing. NO RESPONSE!!! Now one of two things happened, either (a) he has his male ego wounded by my delaying phone contact and booted or (b) he did not find me amusing. This brings we to my point. Although Email is supposed to be the greatest thing invented, it can not convey emotion. I don't think those annoying emoticons do it. You can't convey sarcasm and true caring in words alone. Consequently, misunderstandings arise. Being a person with a rather sarcastic sense of humor, this happens quite frequently. And don't even go there when talking about texting. I think there should be a breatholyzer attached to the phone so that you don't text when intoxicated. Things are sent that should not logically be said. SO.... I think I am opting out of communicating by Email. It just gets me into trouble. Instead I'll just blog. I bet that is a really safe way to be understood.?????????
